Klamath Marsh National Wildlife Refuge is 20 mi. n. on US 97, then 6 mi. e. on Silver Lake Rd. Refuge headquarters is 12 mi. farther e. on Silver Lake Rd. The 40,845-acre refuge harbors egrets, herons, sandhill cranes, bald eagles and other waterfowl and birds of prey. The best time to visit and view birds is May through June. A canoe area is open July through September (water level permitting).
