Lake of the Woods is 36 mi. n.w. of Klamath Falls within Fremont-Winema National Forest. Near the base of 9,497-foot Mount McLoughlin, the lake is reached by a paved road and surrounded by dense woodlands at an elevation of about 5,000 feet. Snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are popular in winter.
