Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad departs from the depot at 204 American Ave. Running between Garibaldi and Rockaway Beach, the railway offers a 1.5-hour scenic trip with views of the ocean aboard a train powered by a historic steam locomotive. Passengers can board at either town, and trips include layovers during which they can disembark and explore their surroundings. Three-hour dinner train excursions from Garibaldi and Wheeler also are available.
Hours: Coastal excursions depart daily at 10, noon and 2, mid-June through Labor Day; Sat.-Sun. at 10, noon and 2, mid-May to mid-June and day after Labor Day-Sept. 30. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
