John McLoughlin House National Historic Site, a unit of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, is at Seventh and Center sts. The restored residence was built in 1845 by Dr. John McLoughlin, “Father of Oregon,” a Hudson's Bay Co. representative who helped the first American pioneers who came across the Oregon Trail.
The home contains original and period furnishings. Victorian handcraft demonstrations are given the second Saturday of the month.
Guided tours are available.
