Tamastslikt Cultural Institute is 6 mi. e. via I-84 exit 216, then .5 mi. n. on Hwy. 331. Situated on the historic Oregon Trail and housed in a striking wood and stone building that blends traditional and modern design elements, the institute features exhibits depicting the culture of the Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla tribes, their history and their future. Multimedia displays, rotating exhibitions, artifacts and a living culture village illustrate the tribes' more than 10,000 years on the Columbia Plateau. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
