AAA Inspector Notes
Built circa 1962 this is not the newest hotel in town but it's an urban renewal success story as it has been transformed from a tired budget motel into one of Portland's hippest hotels. Local art in the lobby and guest corridors entertain the eye as does the charcoal sketches in each guest room. The outdoor courtyard that used to hold a pool and guest parking is now more like the hotel's living room with a green living wall, lots of movable seating and three gas fireplaces that help take the chill off spring and fall evenings. Located in the business district, the hotel is on the new streetcar line and within walking distance to most downtown venues. Guest rooms are on the smaller size but are modern and comfortable with a faux fur throw draped across the luxury linens that will envelope you for a restful night's slumber. Smoke free premises. 174 units. 5 stories, interior corridors.

Pros:
Cons: Location and no value for money. Staff could barely be bothered with you. Way too expensive. Carparking intensely expensive. Why stay here. Go elsewhere from now on..

Pros: If you have any thing that needs you to be in down town Portland stay here. It is convenient to everything and any thing that is not take the max or street car.
Cons: Restaurant had limited dining choices. But there are plenty of places to eat near by.

Pros: Great location, comfortable room, good wifi.
Cons: Parking charge was exhorbitant, especially as I learned the the man checking in next to me was paying half since he booked directly with the hotel. They would not budge on the rate for me
