In the heart of Pearl District, this pub has been in operation for many years and brews beer on the premises. The chef creates dishes to complement the house beers. Many items—including breads, sausages, desserts, soups and sauces—are made in house, and what is not is acquired primarily from local sustainable sources. Come in and check out the artisan woodwork and lively scene in the bar. Some sidewalk seating is available on clear days. The green eggs and ham make for a fun starter, with a close second choice being the brewery pretzel that's served with creamy white cheese and Black Butte Porter stone ground mustard. The menu is also sure to feature a couple of salmon choices that are prepared with salmon caught by the founder's family. If it's on the menu, check out the salmon chowder.
