Close your eyes and step through the door and back in time when the dimly lit and raucous tavern was a social hall and gathering spot. Cocktails are cool, beer is cold, and the food is farm-fresh and simple, with chilled local oysters on the half shell, a chicken liver and foie gras terrine, marinated vegetables, a selection of thinly sliced country hams, whole roasted trout, beef brisket and grilled steak. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm.
