Historic Sumpter Valley Railway Depot at Prairie City and Dewitt Museum is at Main and Bridge sts. in Depot Park. The former 1910 train depot includes a passenger waiting room with artifacts and photographs from a number of train wrecks. There’s also a ticket office and baggage and freight rooms displaying late 19th- and early 20th-century pioneer memorabilia depicting life along the railway. Upstairs, the agent's living quarters contain a kitchen, parlor and bedroom with furnishings typical of the early 1900s. A restored narrow gauge cattle car resides next to the depot on rails.
