Cole M. Rivers Fish Hatchery is 6.7 mi. n.e. on SR 62, just n. on Takelma Dr., then .6 mi. e. to 200 Cole M. Rivers Dr.; the road to the hatchery crosses over the Rogue River, and the hatchery is on the river's east side. The life cycle of six species of fish — coho salmon, spring and fall chinook salmon, rainbow trout, and summer and winter steelhead — may be observed at this facility; the peak season is from March through October. Visitors may purchase fish food and hand feed it to the fish at interactive ponds. During specified seasons, salmon and steelhead fishing is permitted at the Hatchery Hole.
