James Fenimore Cooper House, 457 High St. in the Burlington County Historical Society Complex, is the birthplace of the author of the “Leatherstocking Tales,” novels depicting the era of American frontiersmen and Native Americans. “The Last of the Mohicans” and “The Deerslayer” are among the best known titles in the series, written 1826-41. The 1780 Cooper House has five museum rooms.
