AAA Editor Notes
Slifer House Museum, 1 mi. n. on US 15, was built 1860-62 and is an excellent example of Victorian architecture. Designed by architect Samuel Sloan, the mansion was once the home of Eli Slifer, Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania during the Civil War. Period furnishings and decorative arts from the Victorian and Civil War eras are displayed.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
