National Liberty Museum is downtown at 321 Chestnut St. between 2nd and 3rd sts. Glass art, exhibits, films and interactive centers portray American democracy throughout the nation's history. The museum explores such topics as the relationship between character, leadership and heroism, and the potential for people of all ages and backgrounds to be heroes. The Welcome to Liberty Gallery features an immersive theater. A collection of contemporary glass art is on display, including a 20-foot glass sculpture by artist Dale Chihuly. The Live Like a Hero and Heroes of 9/11 exhibits and an original collection of presidential White House china also are featured.
