AAA Editor Notes
Fort Pitt Block House, 601 Commonwealth Pl. in Point State Park, was built in 1764 and is all that remains of Fort Pitt, the last vestige of British rule in western Pennsylvania. A significant amount of original architecture remains, and visitors can view 18th-century construction techniques. Exhibits, period artifacts and digital presentations are included, and educators are on site to assist with interpretation.

The Fort Pitt Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution have owned and preserved the site since 1894.
