AAA Editor Notes
America on Wheels Museum, 5 North Front St. at jct. Hamilton St., presents creative exhibits portraying the many changes wheeled transportation has gone through over the years—from antique carriages to automobiles that run on alternative fuel sources. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and bicycles are displayed, and a gallery is dedicated to changing exhibits.
Some of the interactive exhibits included let visitors test their knowledge about mechanics' tools, have their photo taken while sitting in the driver's seat of a miniature race car, and learn about the options for powering cars in the future. The Kids' Car Service & Restoration Center offers children ages 12 and under a hands-on opportunity to learn about automobile maintenance.
Local history topics are tied into some of the exhibits.
Guided tours are available.
