The resort, nestled in the Allegheny Mountains of southwest Pennsylvania, has a rich history and even a Revolutionary War flag mounted behind the front desk. Rooms are large with plush luxury bedding. Afternoon tea is served in the lobby where President James Buchanan received the first transatlantic cable. The mineral springs, sought after for their medicinal qualities, are featured in the spa and help to fill one of the first indoor pools constructed in the country. In the evening, relax in one of the many rocking chairs on the large front porch. Smoke free premises. 216 units, some two bedrooms. 4 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: Bedford Springs is a national treasure, this hotel is a gem of historic preservation.. Beautiful, atmospheric, fascinating. Excellent restaurants. Beautiful pool, walking trails. A great place to refresh one's engines
Cons: The hostesses in the beautiful Crystal Room seemed somewhat grumpy if not downright hostile at dinner and at breakfast. Our server at breakfast seemed to look upon us as the enemy. Had we done something wrong or were they just having a bad day? Hard to say. The only flaw in an otherwise perfect place. All the other staff persons (in the reception department) were extraordinarily friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Pros: Staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. In particular, upon arriving was given extra attention by "Bob" at valet for the repair of our tire. Entire staff went above and beyond.
