Bicentennial Tower, 7 State St., was built at Dobbins Landing in 1995 to celebrate Erie's 200th birthday. The 187-foot tower overlooks the historic bay-front district and Presque Isle Bay. Visitors may take the elevator to the observation decks, which feature open-air and enclosed viewing areas; the highest one is at 138 feet. Food is available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$4; $2 (ages 7-12); free (first Sun. of the month).
Hours: Daily 9:30 a.m.-10 p.m., day after Memorial Day-Labor Day; daily 10-8, May 1 to day before Memorial Day; daily 10-6, mid-Apr. to late Apr. and day after Labor Day to Sept. 30; daily 10-5, early Apr. 1 to mid-Apr.; Sat.-Sun. noon-4, rest of year. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
