Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., features 3,400 pieces of American and southwestern Pennsylvania paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints and decorative arts. The collection includes works by Mary Cassatt, George Hetzel, Louis Comfort Tiffany and Benjamin West. The Creation Station is a mobile art-making experience that moves around the museum. An interactive center provides hands-on activities related to the exhibits in the gallery. Several changing exhibits are presented each year. Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$15; $10 (ages 65+); free (ages 0-18, students with ID, military veterans and active military with ID and their families).
Hours: Tues.-Sun. 11-5 (also Wed. 5-7). Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
