Bushy Run Battlefield, SR 66N to SR 993W (Bushy Run Rd.), is the site of a military encounter in 1763 between the British and the Native Americans. The British victory at Bushy Run marked the turning point in Pontiac's War. A visitor center displays artifacts and reproductions from the period, and an exhibit and an orientation video describe the battle. Visitors may take a guided walking tour or a golf cart tour. Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted.
$5; $4.50 (ages 65+); $3 (ages 3-12); free (active military with ID and immediate family).
Hours: Battlefield daily 9-5. Visitor center Wed.-Sat. 9-5, Sun. noon-5, May-Oct.; last tour begins at 3. Both closed major holidays except Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
