Frank & Sylvia Pasquerilla Heritage Discovery Center is at 201 6th Ave.; the parking lot entrance is at jct. Broad St. and 7th Ave. The center presents the experiences of Southern and Eastern European immigrants whose arrival at the turn of the 20th century shaped the region's culture, economy and industry. Daily experiences, difficulties and accomplishments are depicted through several fictional immigrants who give personal accounts of events in their lives. Some of the scenes depicted are an Italian funeral, a Ukrainian wedding, a bar mitzvah, an ethnic social club and a butcher shop.

Interactive exhibits about coal mines and steel mills also are featured. The Iron & Steel Gallery presents additional exhibits about the steel industry. It also shows the film “Mystery of Steel,” which chronicles Johnstown's 19th-century history as a technological innovator in steelmaking. The Johnstown Children's Museum is on the third floor and is included as part of your visit.
