LancasterHistory.org, 230 N. President Ave. at jct. Marietta Ave., houses a 15,000-item artifact collection featuring more than 200 paintings and prints, textiles, glass, ceramics and furniture. The family history research center and library contain more than 1 million historic manuscripts, 50,000 Lancaster County photographs and an Amish quilt collection. The 10-acre grounds include the Tanger Arboretum with more than 100 species of trees from around the world, and President James Buchanan's Wheatland.
Galleries only $7; $5 (ages 6-13); $20 (family, 2 adults and 1-3 children ages 6-13). Combination Wheatland and galleries $17; $6 (ages 6-13); $40 (family, 2 adults and 1-3 children ages 6-13).
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 9:30-5 (also Tues. and Thurs. 5-8). Closed major holidays.
