The Pearl S. Buck House, 1 mi. s.w. of SR 313 at 520 Dublin Rd., was the home of author and humanitarian Pearl S. Buck. The 1825 stone farmhouse displays her Nobel and Pulitzer prizes and many personal mementos collected in China, including decorative screens, rare Asian artwork and porcelain. The desk and typewriter on which she wrote “The Good Earth” are displayed, and her personal collection of Pennsylvania country furniture also is featured. During the Festival of Trees display in November and December, the house is decorated for the holidays and includes more than a dozen trees. A welcome center features exhibits.
