Bartram's Garden is entered from Lindbergh Blvd. w. of 54th St. Formerly the 18th-century farm of Colonial botanist John Bartram, the estate is now a 45-acre public park on the banks of the Schuylkill River. The grounds feature the furnished Bartram family home, the botanical garden, walking paths, a wildflower meadow, wetlands and a historic cider press. A restored 19th century garden features roses, dahlias and peonies. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Grounds free. Guided tour $12; $10 (ages 3-16 and 62+ and students with ID).

Hours: Grounds daily 9-5. Tours offered Thurs.-Sun., early Apr.-early Dec.; phone ahead for departure times. Closed major holidays.
