Historic St. George's United Methodist Church, 235 N. 4th St. at the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, was dedicated in 1769 and is said to be the oldest Methodist church used continuously for worship. The church museum contains historic artifacts, including a bible presented to the church by Francis Asbury, one of the first Methodist bishops in the United States. A historical library and archives are available. For guide service ring the bell at the side entrance on New Street.
Donations. A fee is charged for research.

Hours: Tues.-Fri. 10-4. Sun. services at 10. Last admission for archives research 1 hour before closing. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
