Mütter Museum of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia is just s. of Market St. at 19 S. 22nd St. Thomas Dent Mütter, a professor of surgery at Jefferson Medical College, donated his collection of unique medical materials to The College of Physicians of Philadelphia in 1858. The collection now has more than 20,000 items, including medical instruments as well as anatomical and pathological specimens and models. Displays about diseases, viruses and treatment throughout history also can be seen. The building, designed by Cope & Stewardson, dates to 1908. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
