Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania is at 100 E. Northwestern Ave., between Germantown and Stenton aves. in Chestnut Hill. Within its 92 acres of ever-changing landscape are 13,000 labeled trees and shrubs and colorful gardens. Highlights include a formal rose garden; a glasshouse fernery; and Out on a Limb, a 450-foot canopy walk exhibit (wheelchair accessible) that takes visitors 50 feet into the treetops. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
$16; $14 (ages 65+); $8 (ages 3-17, students and active military with ID).
Hours: Daily 10-4 (also Wed. 4-8, June-Aug. and Sat.-Sun., Apr.-Oct.). Guided tours are available Sat.-Sun. at 2. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
