Penn's Landing, between Spruce and Market sts. along the Delaware River waterfront, marks the site where William Penn landed in 1682. The eight-block-long site offers scenic views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the Delaware River. RiverStage at the Great Plaza at Columbus Boulevard and Chestnut Street hosts more than 50 festivals, concerts and events in summer. Visitors can walk along the boardwalk at Spruce Street Harbor Park at Spruce Street and Columbus Boulevard (open Mother's Day through late September), participate in arcade games or relax in one of the park's more than 50 hammocks. The area is lit by colorful hanging lights at night. Other highlights include Independence Seaport Museum, the historic ship and restaurant Moshulu, Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest roller skating rink (open Memorial Day through Labor Day) and Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest ice-skating rink (open late November through late February). Food is available.
