Penn's Landing, between Spruce and Market sts. along the Delaware River waterfront, marks the site where William Penn landed in 1682. The eight-block-long site offers scenic views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the Delaware River. RiverStage at the Great Plaza at Columbus Blvd. and Chestnut St. hosts more than 50 festivals, concerts and events in summer. Visitors can walk along the boardwalk at Spruce Street Harbor Park at Spruce Street and Columbus Blvd. (open Mother's Day-late Sept.), particapte in arcade games or relax in one of the park's more than 50 hammocks. The area is lit by colorful hanging lights at night. Other highlights include Independence Seaport Museum, the historic ship and restaurant Moshulu, Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest roller skating rink (open Memorial Day-Labor Day) and Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest ice skating rink (open late Nov.-late Feb.). Food is available.
