Philadelphia History Museum at the Atwater Kent, 15 S. 7th St., includes over 100,000 objects hundreds of items covering 330 years of Philadelphia history. Portraiture, sports and political memorabilia are on display. Objects from the city's founders and residents include President George Washington's writing desk from the 1790s and Joe Fraziers boxing gloves from the 1970s. Themed galleries fitted with interactive elements tell stories about such topics as culture and local manufacturing.
