AAA Editor Notes
Wagner Free Institute of Science is at 1700 W. Montgomery Ave. Incorporated in 1855, the institute contains more than 100,000 mineral, fossil and zoological specimens. Displayed in cherry wood cases built in the 1880s, the exhibits include mounted animal skeletons, fossils and shells from around the world. As a continuing resource for scholarly research, it houses the Library and Archives, which also showcases items highlighting the history of the institution.

Evening and weekend events are held throughout the year.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
