Pros: Location was a fantastic and centrally located. Staff was exceptional, to include the valet team (no self-parking). The night cocktails and the morning breakfast were perfection. The lobby is open, bright, and inviting. Our room was very spacious ... More than enough room to spread out, relax, and entertain two children (ages 5 and 10). I loved having a kitchenette and a separate bedroom from the main living space (where the kids slept on the fold out sofa). Having only 12 rooms per floor minimized traffic outside our hotel door, and the balcony provided city and/or parkway views of downtown. Added bonus, the windows in the bedroom and balcony door from the living room were completely sound-proof ... Keeping the sounds of the city outside while we slept. Overall, am VERY pleased and will stay there again in the future.
Cons: When we arrived, I expected pay-for-parking even as a hotel guest. What I did not expect was valet-only service. Additionally, valet parking is $43/day (plus tax, added to your hotel bill). The hotel staff was very helpful when I asked about all the parking options in the area ... Come to find out, street parking is not available and other nearby parking lots are not necessarily any more economical nor secure. For ease and convenience, we left our car with the hotel valet and they were understanding/accommodating as I needed to revisit the car more than once (which requires them to pull the car from the parking garage and around to the front of the hotel) to collect forgotten travel items and my youngest's beloved stuffed bear.
