Berks History Center, 940 Centre Ave., contains displays that depict local history, including fine arts, industry, transportation and Pennsylvania German arts and crafts. A museum displays changing art exhibits and an antique transportation collection including a Conestoga wagon, a 1902 Duryea automobile and a horse-drawn streetcar. Across the street, Henry Janssen Library collection includes 30,000 photographs, almost 600 maps, newspapers dating to 1796 and other items relating to Berks County history and genealogy.
