The Amish Village, 199 Hartman Bridge Rd., offers 25-minute tours of an 1840 farmhouse furnished in the Old Order Amish style. The tour includes the great room (used for community meetings), kitchen, bedrooms and basement, and the guide offers insight into Amish history, clothing, furniture and their way of life. Other buildings include a barn, schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, store and springhouse. Visitors are permitted to feed the farm animals. The 90-minute Backroads Bus Tour is a narrated tour in a 14-passenger bus along country roads where buggies and farmers are often seen. The tour includes at least one stop; options include an Amish home, a quilt shop, a pretzel bakery or a bake shop. Picnicking is permitted after tours. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
