Anthracite Heritage Museum is at 22 Bald Mountain Rd. in McDade Park. The museum is dedicated to collecting, interpreting and preserving the history and culture of Pennsylvania's hard-coal region. Exhibits also highlight various immigrant groups who settled in the region and depict their influence on local history and industry. A brief film showcasing the industry's history also can be seen. Guided tours are available by appointment. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$7; $6 (ages 65+); $5 (ages 3-11); free (active military with ID). Guided tour additional $2. Phone ahead to confirm rates.
