Electric City Trolley Station and Museum is off I-81 exit 185 to Lackawanna Ave., following signs to 300 Cliff St., on the grounds of Steamtown National Historic Site. The facility displays trolleys, photographs and a model trolley that children can control. A 10-minute film details the history of trolleys. Approximately 10-mile 1-hour trolley excursion rides also are offered. Although the museum is on the grounds of a national park, the site is operated by Lackawanna County; therefore, National Parks passes are not valid. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
Museum $6; $5 (ages 62+); $4 (ages 4-17). Trolley ride $8; $7 (ages 62+); $6 (ages 4-17). Combination ticket $10; $9 (ages 62+); $8 (ages 4-17).
Hours: Museum daily 9-4, May.-Dec.; Wed.-Sun. 10-4, rest of year. Trolley rides depart Thurs.-Sun. at 10:30, noon, 1:30 and 3, May-Oct. Tickets must be purchased 15 minutes before scheduled departures. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
