Somerset Historical Center is 4 mi. n. of Somerset on SR 985. The museum examines southwestern Pennsylvania's rural life 1750-1950. Two re-created farmsteads, a covered bridge, a sugar camp, a cider press and a genealogical library are included. A visitor center contains exhibits and farm machinery from western Pennsylvania. Tours begin in the visitor center with a 12-minute video about the history and impact of rural life on the mountain barrier area.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
