The Pennsylvania State University, at University Park, is the commonwealth's largest university and is noted for its beautiful campus. Old Main on Pollock Rd. is the Central Administration building and was built 1856-63; it was rebuilt 1929-30. It contains the Land Grant Frescoes by American muralist Henry Varnum Poor.

Palmer Museum of Art on Curtin Rd. offers American and international exhibitions of paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, photographs and ceramics as well as educational programs, films and musical performances. Guided tours are available with 2-week advance reservation. Phone (814) 865-7672 for schedule; admission is free.

Campus parking is provided for a fee daily until 9 p.m. (central campus) and until 5 p.m. (other areas).
