Farmers' Bank of Rustico Museum and Doucet House is at 2188 Church Rd. next to St. Augustine's Church. Opened in 1864 and operated until 1894, the bank was important in the establishment of credit unions in Canada. The Farmers' Bank exhibit offers information about the founding of the bank by Pere Georges-Antoine Belcourt. The site also traces the history of Acadians in this area; the Doucet House was built about 1772 and may be the oldest Acadian dwelling in the province. Interpretive programs are offered.
