Río Camuy Cave Park is 12 mi. (19 km) s. off Hwy. 129. The 250-acre (102-hectare) park's massive cave network encompasses one of the largest underground river systems in the world. Trams transport visitors to the mouth of one of the caves, where guided walking tours begin. Tours require a moderate level of physical activity that includes climbing stairs; non-slip shoes are recommended. Guided tours are available. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
$15; $10 (ages 4-12); $6 (ages 65+). Parking: $3-$5.
Hours: Two-hour tours depart Wed.-Sun. 8-3 (weather permitting). Visitors should arrive early, as the park reaches maximum capacity quickly. Tram waits may exceed 15 minutes. Closed major holidays. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
