AAA Editor Notes
Christ Chapel (Capilla del Cristo) is on Calle Cristo. The tiny chapel, which has room for only some 30 worshipers, was built on the spot where a horse and rider plunged over the 70-foot bluff during a festival race in 1753. One version of the legend says the rider was saved by prayer; another recounts that only his mount survived. The chapel contains an elaborate altar made of silver and gold with antique ornaments and paintings.
