AAA Editor Notes
Mackenzie King Estate is within Gatineau Park; take Scott Rd. to Old Chelsea Rd. to Gatineau Pkwy., following signs. This was a summer residence of three-time prime minister William Lyon Mackenzie King. The first of the site's various cottages was built around 1903. The first floor of the elegant Moorside Cottage, where King received such guests as Winston Churchill and Charles Lindbergh, is now a tearoom. Historical interpreters and audiovisual presentations relate the life of Canada's longest-governing prime minister. The formal gardens are restored and gardener-historians describe King's gardening techniques.

Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
