Découverte Nature Park (Parc Découverte Nature) is at 2471 ch. Baldwin-Barnston. Surrounded by 12 square kilometres (4.6 sq. mi.) of scenic parkland and marshes, the Louis Roch Séguin Pavilion houses interactive exhibits and a fish hatchery. The welcome center also provides information about the Niger and Meder rivers, Lac Lyster, Baldwin Pond and nearby Mont Pinnacle.
An observation tower offers views of the fish hatchery marsh. Recreational activities include sport fishing and rock climbing. Hiking—along such trails as the 1.5-kilometre (.9-mi.) Old Mill Trail and a 7.9-kilometre (4.9-mi.) path leading to the top of Mount Pinnacle—is a popular activity as well. Swimming is permitted at Lake Lyster Beach, where lifeguards are on duty, and boat rentals are available.
Note: Some hiking trails are uneven and require excellent mobility. Guided tours are available by reservation.
