The Métabetchouane Historical and Archaeological Centre

The Métabetchouane Historical and Archaeological Centre (Centre d'histoire et d'archéologie de la Métabetchouane), 234 rue Hébert/Hwy. 169, relates the story of the first encounter between the area's indigenous peoples and French explorers and trappers. On the grounds are replicas of the 1847 Hudson's Bay Co. trading post, a chapel and a historic powder magazine.

Guided tours are available; reservations are required for narration in English.
