Granby Zoo (Zoo de Granby), off Autoroute 10 exit 68 or 74 following signs to 1050 boul. David-Bouchard. Visitors observe about 2,000 animals representing nearly 270 species, including African elephants, Amur tigers, gorillas, giraffes and snow leopards. Traversé Australienne (Australian Road Trip) is a walk-through area featuring all kinds of animals native to Australia, housed in close approximations of their natural habitats. Zookeepers and naturalist guides offer various presentations that describe animal life. The zoo also features an amusement park with such rides as bumper cars, a carousel and a Ferris wheel. Alcoholic beverages, glass containers and pets are not permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
Victoria Day weekend-late Aug. (includes Amazoo Yoplait Water Park) $36.95; $28.95 (ages 65+); $23.95 (ages 3-12); $10.95 (age 2); $107.95 (family, two adults and two children). Admission rest of season (zoo only) varies. Two-day combination passes also are available. Under 13 must be with an adult.
