AAA Inspector Notes
The hotel's French Renaissance-style exudes luxury; rooms have mahogany reproduction furniture, lavish drapes, excellent bedding and granite vanities. A few rooms have balconies with a lake view. Bathrooms have ornate mahogany vanities topped with granite. The lobby, restaurant and bar are upscale and comfortable, with some antique furnishings on display. Guests may relax in the indoor pool and full-service spa or convene in well-appointed meeting rooms. A regional bike path and cross-country ski trail pass behind the property. In winter, the municipality operates a skating rink on the lake in front of the hotel. Smoke free premises. 50 units. 5 stories, interior corridors.

Pros: Outside look, pool, spa area, nice set up for meal prices (+5$ if American vs European). Clean room.
Cons: Fairly small room, locked out in spa area without a "call bell" or button to contact front desk.

Pros: Breakfast was good and the restaurant staff was very nice.
Cons: Front desk staff was not that pleasant (stayed there last year too and it was the same). The place is not bad but not for the price they charge. The rooms need refurbishing, the carpets and fabrics are worn, although the room was clean.

Pros: location was close to the activities we had planned
Cons: It was the most expensive hotel in the bunch we looked at on booking.com. The hotel info says "luxurious ". The look of the building and the hallways do indeed offer a " luxurious " feel but not the rooms. The bed base in the room we initially had was longer than the box spring which itself was shorter than the matress. Our 2 year old son triped on the carpet and his head came close to hit the corner of the expose bed frame which was sharp metal. The air coming out of the air conditioning unit smelled musty and the bathroom doors are some kinda glass through which you can see...everything!!! The staff were very good however and we got upgraded. The included breakfast was choice of toasts or bagel, far from a huge breakfast offered at Holliday Inn Express for almost half the price. The staff mentioned the rooms were under construction, the hotel should have mentioned this and offer a discount.

Pros: The staff in the restaurant were very nice. The pool area is nice...the room was very clean.
Cons: The reception was off when we arrived and at our departure...a little rude both times. Did not like or understand WHY children can not go outside in the hot tube area...it was warm and beautifull outside and we could not just go sit outside. If you want to have families, make sure it is a friendly environment for all.
