Fjord Museum (Musée du Fjord) is at 3346 boul. de la Grande-Baie S. This maritime museum explores the astounding natural features and animal life of the Saguenay Fjord. Shown several times a day, the multilingual show “Journey into the Heart of the Saguenay Fjord” is a not-to-be-skipped, 3-D multimedia presentation that takes you on a journey through 900 million years of fjord history.
Other permanent exhibits include a huge seawater aquarium with an interactive virtual fish information board; a touch pool where you can handle starfish and other species; and a terrarium housing a collection of insects and crustaceans. The Roots and Dreams exhibit highlights the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region's diverse residents.
Educational excursions, including a zodiac boat tour of the fjord, are offered regularly in the high season.
Guided tours are available.
