AAA Inspector Notes
Historic. Hardwood floors, stained-glass, a wood-burning stove, stone walls and a wood-beamed ceiling dating back to 1841 frame this rustically elegant dining room. Five- and eight-course dinner menus are featured, with locally-procured meat, vegetables, cheese and wine. The house specialty is quenelle, a French dish of puréed meat which is lightly breaded and baked until it rises up into a wafer-thin pastry. Other options include filet mignon, scallops, fresh fish and pan-seared foie gras.
