La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve

La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve (Réserve faunique La Vérendrye), 60 km (37 mi.) n.w. on Hwy. 117, covers 12,589 square kilometres (4,861 sq. mi.), with approximately 2,200 square kilometres (849 sq. mi.) suitable for canoe trips and wilderness camping. Fishing is excellent in any of the more than 4,000 lakes. The reserve is a game sanctuary; motorists should be alert for animals crossing the roadway.

Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
