Grande Bibliothèque, 475 boul. de Maisonneuve Est (M: Berri-UQAM), is a major public library and the province's largest cultural institution. Offered in French and English, 90-minute guided tours describe the collections—part of Québec's national archives—housed on-site as well as the library's history and mission. The contemporary building houses more than 4 million documents, including 1 million books. A variety of cultural presentations, such as art exhibits, literary events and live performances, are held here periodically. Self-guiding audio tours in French or English are available. Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
