Montréal Science Centre (Centre des sciences de Montréal) is at jct. boul. St-Laurent and rue de la Commune Ouest in Old Montréal (M: Place d'Armes). This hands-on, learning center presents science and technology in such a way as to make learning fun. Eye-catching, high-tech interactive displays cover such topics as robotics, health and communications. A permanent exhibit is designed for ages 4-7. The IMAX-TELUS Theatre also is in the center. Note: As of late May, the center is temporarily closed; phone for updates. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
Exhibits $15; $13 (ages 13-17 and 60+); $8.50 (ages 4-12); $40 (family, two adults and two children, or one adult and three children; $6.50 for each additional child). IMAX film $11.50; $10.50 (ages 13-17 and 60+); $8.50 (ages 4-12); $36.50 (family, two adults and two children, or one adult and three children). Combination ticket (includes exhibits and one IMAX film) $22.50; $19.50 (ages 13-17 and 60+); $14 (ages 4-12); $64 (family, two adults and two children, or one adult and three children; $9.50 for each additional child). Other combination tickets are available.
Hours: Museum daily 10-5 (some Fri. 5-9). IMAX films are screened daily every 50 minutes beginning at 10 with last show at 8:50 p.m. IMAX schedule may vary; phone ahead. Closed Jan. 1 and Christmas.
