The Redpath Museum (Le Musée Redpath) is at 859 Sherbrooke St. W., between McTavish and University on the McGill University campus (M: Peel or McGill). When erected in 1882, this was Canada's first building designed to be a museum. The themes of the permanent exhibits include paleontology, ethnology, archeology, minerals and gems, and Québec fauna. Documentary films, lectures and Sunday workshops for children also are offered.
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sun. 11-5, Sept.-June; Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sun. 1-5, rest of year. Closed major holidays.
